Glitter has been mixed into the plastic during manufacture to create this unique and stylish hard wearing case.
Each Case have a perfectly smooth outer surface just like any other plastic case and the vibrant light catching glitter effect is captured inside the plastic, it doesn't wear off or dull with use.

How to identify if your console is a NEW or OLD 3DS:
If your games insert into the back of the console and the stylus slots into the side you have an OLD 3DS model originally released between 2011/2012.
If your games and stylus pen load into the front of the console then you have a NEW 3DS originally released in 2015.
